Dominique (Dom) “Nicky” Hollowell, 21 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be held at PUB 52 at 6:00pm Friday, July 29, 2022. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army. Last call for Sergeant Bluff Fire Rescue. Luncheon will be held at the Sergeant Bluff Legion Hall after the Interment. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Dominique (Dom) “Nicky” Hollowell was born March 1, 2001, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Joshua and Lisa (Godbersen) Hollowell. Dom graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 2019. In his high school years his passions were wrestling and soccer. At age 16 Dom joined the Sgt. Bluff Fire and Rescue High School Program. After graduation Dom enlisted into the Iowa Army National Guard, graduating basic training on April 24, 2020, at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. He went on to AIT (Advance Individual Training) at Fort Sam in Houston, TX, graduating on August 12, 2020. His MOS (military occupational specialty) was 68W Health Care Specialist (Medic). Dom was deployed to Kosovo on September 13, 2020, returning home July 20, 2021.
Dom enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing with his family and friends. He was currently attending Western Iowa Technical Community College to receive his Paramedic degree and was working at Unity Point-St. Luke’s Regional Hospital ER in Sioux City.
He is survived by his parents Joshua and Lisa Hollowell; girlfriend, Katie Warwick; paternal grandparents, Carla Pfleeger (Brian), Kirby Hollowell (Marcy); maternal grandparents, Mary (Evan) Hulit, Martin Godbersen; aunts and uncles Candace Leff (Nic), Travis Godbersen (Ashley), Jeremy Hollowell (Nichole), Zach Hollowell (Jaclyn), Cassie Wiseman (Chris) and Colby Hollowell; cousins Jayden Hollowell, Dillen Hollowell, Hayli Hollowell, Taly Leff, Jackson Godbersen, Grant Godbersen, Beverly Godbersen, Payton Rice, Paxton Rice, Knoxton Hollowell, and Emmersyn Hollowell. Dom will be missed by many friends and loved ones.
Dom is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Dewayne & JoAnn Erickson, Jim & Jeri Hollowell and Chris Godbersen.
