DiAnn (Grage) Greiner, loving wife, mother and grandma passed away on Tuesday, February 22nd at a local hospital, with her husband and daughter by her side. Services will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Home, 4125 Orleans Ave, with visitation one hour prior.
DiAnn was born on August 3, 1957, to Gerald and Ruth (Nilles) Grage in Remsen, IA. Her family moved to Sergeant Bluff when she was young. She graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1975. She married the love of her life, Paul Greiner, on April 1, 1977.
DiAnn worked at Downing's House of Pancakes and continued working there for many years when ownership changed to Gus's Family Restaurant. She later cleaned houses in the Siouxland area.
DiAnn’s family was first and foremost in her life. Her daughter and her granddaughters were her pride and joy. She enjoyed camping, fishing, watching dirt track racing, and gambling at the Whistle Stop Casino. No one was a stranger to DiAnn, they were all friends. She cherished many and was a grandma to all.
DiAnn is survived by her husband, of nearly 45 years, Paul Greiner, daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Smith, three granddaughters, Brooke, Kaylee, and Kinlee Smith, siblings, Denise Beekley, Janice (Kurt) Kracke, Joe (Lisa) Grage, Jackie (Mark) Lonsdale, Brad (Kim) Grage, Bryan (Jean) Grage, brother-in-law, Bill Harstad, in-laws; Joe (Di) Greiner, Mike (Annie) Greiner, Mark (Mary) Greiner, Bob (Jo) Greiner, Ellen (Mark) Duman, Loretta (Daryl) Howard, Rita (Gene) Flair, Ken (Bonnie) Novak, Jim (Heidi) Griener, numerous nieces and nephews, and many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Joyce Harstad, parents-in-laws, Ed and Mary Pat Greiner and her special sister-in-law, Cathy Greiner.
In honor of DiAnn's love for dirt track racing, feel free to wear a racing shirt, or dress casually.
