Obituary

Diane L. Crossman, 80 of Salix Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa after a short illness.

Grave side service will be held 10:00am Friday, April 10, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City with Rev. Dan Dorran officiating. Arrangement is under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, 400 4th Street.

Diane was born in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of George Dow and Vivian Wilder. The couple later divorced and Vivian married Darrell (Bill) Castle, together they raised Diane, but George remained a devoted father to Diane. She graduated from East High School in 1952. She married Paul Butler and to this union two sons were born, Steven and Michael. The couple later divorced and Diane married Dick Crossman, he brought his son Rick into the family, she remained close to Rick after her and Dick spilt up. She worked as a dispatcher for the sheriff’s department of BucyRus, Ohio in Crawford, County, where she retired from in 1996.

Diane later moved to Black Hawk, SD. with her fiancé Ted until his passing in 2001. She then moved back to Salix area to be near her family.

She was an avid animal lover and had many special pets throughout her life time.

Diane is survived by her sons; Steven (Karen) of California, Michael Butler of Columbus, Ohio, brother Darrell “Bill” Castle, three sisters; Bettie Morgan, Beverlly Kranz of Salix, Terri (Brad) Anderson of Sioux City, many special nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, step-son Rick and fiancé Ted.
