Obituary

Dexter W Tucker, age 72, of Sioux City died Saturday April 14. 2012 at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday April 19, 2012 at Loving Faith Fellowship in Sioux City with interment following in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8pm with the family present from 6-8pm at Waterbury Funeral Service.

Dexter was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 15, 1939, the son of Bernard J. and Etta (Jones) Tucker. He attended and graduated Sioux City Central High School with the class of 1958. He served as a parts manager for both Zook Motors and Tagatz Pontiac for a few years, he then attended WIT and recived training to become a truck driver. Following his graduation from WIT he began a 30 year career as a truck driver for Metz Baking, Sara Lee Foods. Following his retirement from trucking he had worked the past 10 years as a salesperson for Ideal Wheels II. Dexter married Joan Finley of which this union brought his children: Dex, Rex, and Kim. The couple later divorced. He married Marsha Smith on December 26, 2002, in Elk Point, South Dakota.

Dexter enjoyed cars, motorcycles racing, boating, traveling and music. In his younger days he drag raced in his own dragster and his motorcycle, he enjoyed anything that went fast. He cherished the time that he could spend with his family and all of his friends.

Dexter is survived by his wife Marsha of Sioux City, his son Rex of Sioux City, his daughters: Kim Ernst and her husband Monty of Sioux City and Erica Black of Sioux City. He is also survived by his step- sons Jeff Tucker and Jason Berg and his wife Shelly, his step-daughters: Stephanie Bonness and Suzanne Eagan, along with his sister Mary Kay Jones and her husband Gary of Sioux City, his nine grandchildren: Raymond, Terra, Ashley. Tony and Aaron Tucker, Andrew & Nathan Ernst, and Mersaydes, and Mackayla. Six great-grandchildren, with one on the way and his three step-grandchildren; Chaeli, Jocelyn, and Sydney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dexter Tucker Jr. and a brother Thomas.
