IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deseri L
Koita
October 16, 1979 – June 30, 2022
Deseri was a devoted wife, sister, friend, cousin and Aunty. She loved the people who were close to her deeply and unconditionally. She was always there to talk to when you needed someone and she would always give you her opinion, whether you liked it or not. Deseri was also a caregiver in the medical field for over 20 years, and she was the best at it because she had the biggest heart.
She was very loved and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved her husband Sekou and the two of them kept each other strong in life. She meant so much to everyone. She was a counselor, a comedian, a confidant, a partner in crime and so much more. She would be the one to get everyone laughing until tears were Rolling down their faces from her jokes or her just being Deseri. She kept an inviting place for others in her heart and her home. She would always be thinking of family and friends and send them gifts to let them know she cared and was on their side in life.
Above all, one thing she was proud of most was being an Aunty. She poured all of her love into being an Aunty and loved her niece and nephew so much. She had a special bond with her niece Lyla and always looked forward to their chats and video calls. She always showed love, care, patience, and was willing to share what she had with all the little ones in her family. When around the little ones, her gentle soul always came out as she cared and loved children very much.
Despite all her hardships the last two years, she always managed to push forward. Her family and friends were a source of constant motivation, and she was an inspiration to us all. We love you Deseri, rest in peace and give mom a big hug for us.
