Derek S. Schulte

Derek S. Schulte, 53 of Salix, died Thursday, September 10, 2026 at a Sioux City hospital.

Private family memorial service was held.

Derek Scott Schulte was born on November 27, 1972 in Highland, Illinois, the son of Russel and Marianne (Reding) Schulte. Derek attended the Tri-Ad High School in Jacob, Illinois. During 1991, he moved to North Sioux City, South Dakota then Sioux City before moving to Salix.

During his younger years Derek worked at various area businesses including the Sioux City Foundry and later Domino’s Pizza. Derek enjoyed fishing and playing pool.

Derek is survived by his father Russel, brothers Brian, and his children Gaberelle and Kurtis, Todd Schulte and his daughter Caydence and Tim Schulte and his daughter Adelyn.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marianne Schulte.
