Dennis was born February 6, 1941 to Max and Helen (Dennis) Krogh in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1959. During his youth he was active in 4-H and livestock judging. He later attended the Iowa State two year farm program. Dennis began farming and operating his Grade A dairy farm in the Weedland area of rural Sergeant Bluff.

Dennis was united in marriage to Sharon Prien at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Iowa on July 31, 1965. They made their home on the farm in rural Sergeant Bluff. In 1973 Dennis and Sharon moved with their family to farm near Homer, Nebraska. Later in 1983 they moved back to the family heritage farm near Browers Lake in Sergeant Bluff. Dennis continued to live on the family farm that he loved until his passing. Over the years Dennis overcame several struggles including polio as a youth and a massive stroke at the age of 30.

Dennis enjoyed farming, raising cattle, driving his pickup to visit neighbors, attending the Woodbury County Fair, listening to music and most importantly the love of his grandchildren. Dennis was an early leader of the Pioneer Valley 4-H Club, a member of the Sergeant Bluff Kiwanis, and a Woodbury County Farm Bureau Director.

Survivors include his devoted wife Sharon of 50 years, one daughter Brenda (Todd) Godfredson and one son Brian (Amiee) Krogh both of Sergeant Bluff, six grandchildren; Justin, Kasey, and Stephanie Krogh, Mitchell, Drew and Carson Godfredson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and twin grandchildren Michael and Hope Godfredson.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used to support 4-H at the Woodbury County Fair and the Community United Methodist Church.
