Delores “Lola” Stenum-Griffith, 70, of Lawton, IA, passed away May 13, 2025 at Lawton Senior Living.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Lola was born on September 16, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Delores (Franco) Stenum.  She graduated from Central High School in 1972, part of the last graduating class.  She married the love of her life, Spencer Griffith Sr. on August 15th, 1981 at Latham Park in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Lawton, IA and welcomed their son, Spencer Jr., in June 1985.

Lola worked at Target for 40 years, retiring in 2021. She enjoyed her work and getting to see and talk to many people throughout her time working there. She also made several long-lasting friendships while she was employed at Target.

Lola loved nature and anything outdoors. She and Spencer would go camping and ride motorcycles with their friends frequently. She also loved her son and stepdaughter and her grandkids; she would attend many of their sporting events or extracurricular activities. Lola enjoyed cooking and was known for her banana bread and fried chicken. She also had a love of music, both from Spencer’s band and anything Tim McGraw.

Lola had an overall love for life, she was always smiling and laughing, no doubt her most memorable characteristics.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Spencer (Jenny) Griffith of Lawton; stepdaughter, Mindi (Wes) Griffith-Jones of Sioux City, sister, Teresa (Pete) Holbrook of North Sioux City, brother, Bob (Sharon) Stenum of Sioux City, her grandchildren; Scott and Sierra Jones, Logan and Quinn Griffith, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
