Obituary

Delia Anne Prittie, 81 of Sioux City, passed peacefully into God’s arms on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home, following a lengthy illness.

Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City, with Father David Heman officiating, with Military Rites provided by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be held 4-8pm Friday, August 14, 2015 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, 400 4th Street.

Delia was born July 31, 1934 in Anthon, Iowa, the daughter of Patrick and Ella (Murphy) Conley. The family moved to Sioux City before moving to the Leeds area, where Delia attended school and graduated from High School. After graduation, she joined the United States Air Force, where she met the love of her life, Don A. Prittie. The two were married July 30, 1955 in Jamestown, New York. They lived in Bemus Point, New York for five years before returning to the Sioux City area, where they raised their five children.

Delia worked at the American Popcorn Company for many years. Later, she worked for the Municipal Credit Union until her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She enjoyed many activities including dancing, but most of all spending time with her husband, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Delia is survived by her children, Deon and her husband Steven Sitzmann of Sioux City, Don Prittie of Dakota City, Nebraska, Daryl Prittie and his wife Carol of Murrysville, Pennsylanvia, Daniel Prittie and his wife Trish of Westfield, New York and Shane Prittie and his wife Laura of Allen, Texas;

Twelve grandchildren, Steven (Katherine), Heath (Stacy), Breanna (Seth), Kianna, Quinn, Carter, William, Megan, Joshua (Lindsey), Kacy, Taylor, and Erin (Trevor); nine-great-grandchildren, Calleigh Sitzmann, Tucker Sitzmann, Baily Sitzmann, Jakob Ruhrer, Reagan Bayly, Joshua Prittie, Kacy Mae Prittie and Raylee Prittie Bowen Dendinger; her sister, Madonna (Arlo) Fay; three sister in-laws, Colleen (Ed) Conley, Nancy (Joseph) Conley-Vie and; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don, an infant son, Don Allen Prittie, Jr, her parents, three brothers, Ed Conley, Joseph Conley and Phil Conley, one sister and her husband, Kathleen and Patrick Badtram.

Delia will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Siouxland.
