Debra M. Harris, age 72 of Sioux City passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at a local hospital surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 am to 2 pm Saturday, August 15th at a Riverside Park Shelter.

Debra May Harris was born on April 17, 1954 in Sioux City, the daughter of Kenneth and Marilyn (Bauerly) Harris. She attended Central and later West High School.

Over the years Debra was a waitress at the Horizon, Bonanza and Martin Truck Stop restaurants. She later worked at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Gateway, Alorica and Pech Optical. In her early years she traveled with the carnival where she met the fathers of her kids.

Debra enjoyed the time spent with her family, friends, camping, playing Bingo at St. Boniface, Winnavegas and Ike’s and going to the Argosy Casino.

She is survived by her daughters Amanda (Roy Lafrentz) El-Shabazz and Billie Jo (Josh Montano) Willson, bonus sons Richard (Ashley) Harris, Caleb Smith and Daniel Harris, grandchildren Kaydience Willson, Keyton and Paetin El-Shabazz, Sierra and Kendra Tomlinson, Adan Johnson and Peyton Uheling, her brothers Douglas (Laura) Harris, Kelly (Pam) Harris, Dennis (Kathy) Lally and Dick Harris, Sr., and her sister Janice Webber. As well as many other nieces, nephews, friends and so many dear people to her. She was a “grandma” to anyone who came in contact with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her fiance Robert Muillenburg, her infant son and 2 infant grandchildren. A infant sister, JoDean Kay. As well as quite a few close friends who she loved dearly.
