Deborah Claire Tagstrom

Deborah "Deb" Claire Tagstrom, 72, of Jefferson, SD, passed away surrounded by her family on November 14, 2025. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 25 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date.

Deb was born on December 18, 1952 at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE to Joseph and Dorothy (Singer) Zant. She grew up traveling the US with her dad being in the Air Force. She moved to Sergeant Bluff when she was in 8th grade. She graduated from Sergeant Bluff high school and then from Western Iowa Tech, where she got her degree in computer programming.

Deb worked for IBP/Tyson for over 40 years before retiring. She was united in marriage to Paul Tagstrom in 1972, and they raised their sons Brian and Andy. They moved to Arkansas for a few years for her job before moving to Jefferson, SD. Deb enjoyed going to national parks to see the beauty.

She was a great cook, a trait she inherited from her mom. She liked coming up with different recipes and trying them out on her family. The light in her life was her grandson, Rylan. She enjoyed every minute with him.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Paul Tagstrom; sons: Brian and Andy Tagstrom; sister, Julie Wentzel. Sioux Falls, SD; brothers: Steve Zant, Bronson, IA and John Zant, Creswell, OR.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Singer and dad, Joseph Zant; grandparents: Vurne and Emma Beach, Slayton, MN.
