Lynn Hair
August 7, 1961 – February 6, 2021
Deborah M. Hair, 59 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at a local hospital.
Deb put her shears away and did her final comb out after succumbing to colon cancer on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:30am, Saturday, February, 20, 2021 at Nativity Catholic Church, 4242 Natalia Way, Sioux City. Wake to be held from 4-pm ~ 7pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City 4125 Orleans Ave.
Debbie was born a rising prodigy on August 7, 1961 to Charles and Schery (Kelly), Moore. Debbie excelled at an early age in beauty and wisdom, being raised by her beloved grandmother Stella and grandfather Robert Williams. Primary education at Immaculate Conception Catholic School proved to be an asset in future years as Debbie became a renowned mathematician, thanks in part to the tutorship of Sr Mary Cleopha OSM.
A 1979 graduate of Bishop Heelan High School, she supported her Crusaders as a member of the drill team as well as being a star athlete on the powder puff football team. After High School, Debbie continued her education at Stewart’s School of Hairstyling which opened the door to lifelong successful work in the fields of sculpting, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Owning her own salon, she became one of Sioux City’s most sought after beauticians. While continuing to work until 2020, she retired from hair styling from Stone Avenue Stylists.
Debbie also served her community by counseling & mentoring some of the town’s finest citizens in her decades of tireless work at a popular, local landmark business on Paxton Ave in Morningside as well as a successfully established business in the Sgt Bluff area.
She is survived by her mother, Schery Draper, brother, Bradley Moore, sister, Krista Verbeski, nieces, nephews and by more friends than there are stars in the sky. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Moore and paternal grandparents, Stella and Robert Williams.
Debbie was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by every heart she ever touched. And for all we know, she’s up in Heaven right now trying to convince Jesus that He needs a trim.
