Dawn M. Skinner, 71 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, from 4 pm - 6 pm at the American Legion Hall in Sergeant Bluff. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Dawn was born August 30, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of David and Ruth (Fiscus) Lynn. In 1969 Dawn graduated from East High School where she was active in the East Marching Band. Dawn married Gary Skinner on July 3, 1970 and to this union they had three children; Terri Hills, Roy Skinner and Eric Skinner. Dawn and Gary made their home in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Gary passed on September 7, 2022.

In her early years Dawn was a member of the Women’s Fire Department Auxiliary. She also worked various jobs in the area with the last one being  Menards until 2009. She loved spending time with her grandkids, going to their sporting events and spoiling them. She also enjoyed gambling, collecting M&M memorabilia, and spending time with her husband.

Dawn is survived by her daughter, Terri Hills (Brandon Conyers),  two sons, Roy (Becky) Skinner, and Eric Skinner (Jessica Brown),  three brothers, Lloyd Lynn, Scott Lynn, and Marvin Lynn, two sisters, Michele Haitz and Margaret “Peggy” Harris, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Ruth, her husband Gary Skinner, and three brothers, Conrad, Alan, and Clinton.
