David Charles Pearson, age 70, of Bronson, Iowa, passed away on January 20, 2017, at a hospital in Sioux City. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the dircetion of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.

David was born on October 11th, 1946 in Salix, Iowa, to parents Elmer and Rose (Bertrand) Pearson and spent most of his life in Bronson, Iowa.

He attended primary school in Bronson, and graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1965, and retired as Master Sgt. from the Iowa Air National Guard, 185th Air Refueling Wing, in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, keeping the town clean, and monitoring the speed of people driving by (for neighborhood kids’ safety). And he could fix almost anything.

There will be a gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Community Center in downtown Bronson, Iowa. Per his wishes, he will be cremated.

Survivors include his children, Matthew (Wendy) Pearson of Liberty, Missouri, Jeffrey (Angela) Pearson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Michelle Pearson of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers, Lou (Verla) of Bronson, Iowa, Mike (Karen) of Lawton, Iowa, sisters Patricia (Larry) Smith, of Sioux City, Iowa, Becky Pearson, of Bronson, Iowa, and Julie (Randy) Benson, of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Bennett, Maximillian, Spencer, Hannah, and Claire; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends in the Bronson community.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephews Todd Pearson, Randy Smith, and Tony Smith.
