David F. Frisbie, 80, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at a local hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Russell Senstad officiating. Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery, Lake View, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dave was born on March 26, 1933, in Sioux City, the son of Algie and Ida (Miller) Frisbie. Dave attended school in Sioux City, graduating from East High School in 1950. Following high school, he attended a school for utilities engineering and worked in the electro-mechanical industry for 50 years. Dave married Dorothy Leitz on Sept. 26, 1953.

Dave enjoyed gardening, listening to his country western music record collection, and recently enjoyed researching his family history. He had many pets throughout the years. He loved his cat, Melody.

Survivors include his children, Sherri Frisbie of Omaha, David Frisbie of Dallas, Texas, and Sarah Price of Sioux City; grandchild, Katie Dahlen of Kingston, Mass.; brothers-in-law, Jim Leitz and his wife, Phylis, and Leroy Leitz, of Lake View, Iowa; cousins, John and Jean Barker of Lake View; and many other family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters, Flotilla Riedell and Ramona Spears.
