David Earl Farley, 73, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 6, 2024 surrounded by his family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
David was born on August 5, 1950 in Dallas, OR to Richard and Marian (Johnson) Farley. He was united in marriage to Rohnda Williams on February 28, 1976 in Elk Point, SD. They had 3 sons together. His love for Rohnda was abundant. He would often say “she's a good one, she's my baby.”
David worked for Klinger Construction for many years and finished out his career working with Prince Manufacturing. He was a hard working man who had many side jobs, including driving Taxi Cab.
David had a passion for boxing. He started coaching youth boxing in the early 1980’s which came with many sacrifices. He has passed the tradition down to his son Danny and his nephews Mike and Richie. Many in the boxing community will remember him saying “ You have to throw combinations.”

Some of his greatest joys could be found in fishing, playing pool, golfing, playing Yahtzee with his “baby”, riding his motorcycle, eating fried chicken and spoiling his grandbabies with candy. He was an ornery goofball who could always make for a good laugh. He will be missed my many.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Rohnda Farley; children: Gary Townsley, Danny (Jes) Farley, Robert (Phuong) Farley. Grandchildren: Katie, Chelsea (Alex), Austin, Ben, Steven, Alec, Addie, and Angelina. Great Grandchildren: Rayden, Iris, and Matthew. Siblings: Denny, Sandy (Gary), Teresa (David) and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Richard and Marian, brother; Pete, Son; David Jr., Nephews; Paul and Jason, First wife Maureen.
