David Mosier, 85 of Sergeant Bluff, Ia, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at a local hospital.
Funeral service will be held 10:00am Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, 400 4 th Street. Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
David was born on March 24, 1950 in Sioux City, Ia. the son of Harold and Miriam (Allvin) Mosier. On December 15, 1950, David married the love of his life, Faonne Bails. They had five children. His greatest joy and number one priority was his family. David was a veteran of the Korean War, serving two years. He was a member of the Shriners and Moose Lodge. David was a professional painter.
David always made sure that his children went on vacation every year. He would take them camping, visiting relatives, trips to historical places. Friday nights spent at the drive-in with popcorn; root beer floats at the A&W. David and Faonne loved dancing at the Runway and then breakfast at the truck stop. He enjoyed gardening, rummaging, leatherwork, and making things like gourds into birdhouses. He was an all-around handyman and always had a project going. He loved anything to do with trains and railroads. David really enjoyed having his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren altogether for holiday dinners.
He is survived by his son, Troy Mosier of Sergeant Bluff; his daughters Naydeen Bell of South Sioux City, Jackie Mosier of Sioux City; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Mosier of Sergeant Bluff; seven grandchildren, Shawn Rasmussen, Sara Walker, Crystal Balsey, Justin White, Samantha Jo Mosier, Thomas Mosier, Shenise Amland; 13 grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
David was preceded in death by his wife, and two sons, Scott and Brad.
