Darla J. Burns, 58 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at her home. Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 307.

Darla was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 22, 1963 to James and Myrtle (Pullins) Daniels. She graduated West High School in 1981. Darla entered the United States Army right after graduation. She served for 3 years, receiving the Army Service Ribbon and the Sharpshooter Medal. After her Honorable discharge in Georgia, Darla moved to Texas, Sioux City, and then Los Angeles, California. In the early 1990’s she moved back to Sioux City, Iowa.

She enjoyed going to the Bandits games and watching parades. Darla loved to be around her family. She was a member of the Sioux City Black Homecoming reunion.

Darla is survived by her daughter, Devan, two brothers, David and Duane Daniels.

She proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Diana and Donna Kay Daniels, three brothers, Damon, Daryl and Derek Daniels.
