Danny F. Leaver, 64, of Sioux City passed away January 18, 2017 at an Orange City hospital. A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm,. with military honors at 4:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery at a later date.

Danny was born on August 28, 1952 in Denison, IA to Floyd W. and LaVonne (Rude) Leaver. He attended Sioux City schools and enlisted into the US Air Force following high school.

Danny married Susan Kilpatrick in 1973 and to this union three children were born. Danny and Susan later divorced. Danny worked for the Sioux City Foundry for 41 years, retiring in 2015 due to his health.

Danny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Riding his motorcycle and going on motorcycle rides with his dad, was one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed going to casinos, watching NASCAR, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Danny had been on several different bowling leagues throughout the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 64 and the Post 64 Legion Riders.

Survivors include his father, Floyd W. Leaver of Sioux City; children, Christy (Curt) Schnee and their children, Erika and Ethan of Sergeant Bluff, Kim Leaver of South Sioux City, and Greg Leaver of Sioux City; sister, Barbara Lensink; and brother, Dean Leaver.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, LaVonne and his brother, Bruce.
