Danny “Dan” Carlson, age 59, of Sioux City passed away suddenly on Sunday May 26, 2013 at his residence.
A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held at Eilies South of the Border 1951 Leech Avenue on Thursday May 30 from 2-4 pm. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Dan was born in Sioux City on November 11, 1953, the son of Douglas H and LaVerne A. (Watterson) Carlson. He attended Westfield schools and graduated with the class of 1972.
He worked for Gateway for many years and his most recent employment was at Eilies South of the Border where he served as a bartender.
Dan enjoyed the time he could spend with his family and friends, as well as his pets, flowers and gardening.
He is survived by his brother, Douglas Carlson Jr and his wife Mary Ellen of Akron, Iowa, his sisters: Mary Johns and her husband Kenny of Sioux City, Carolyn Stultz and her husband Kenneth of Sioux City, Jeanne Carlson and her friend Greg Moore of Sioux City, Kathy Burnsting and her husband Dennis of Sioux City, Cheri Sander and her husband Dennis of Lawton, and Laurie Blanchard and her husband Mike of Sioux City. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Jo Ann Carlson of Lawton, a aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Dave Hanson of Sioux City along with many nieces and nephews and his special friend Candice Banks.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard, and special friend Mike.
