Daniel L. Shephard, 64, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Waterbury Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daniel was born February 13, 1961, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Norman and Karen (Lyle) Shephard. He lived in Minneapolis until the age of seventeen when he moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Over the years, Daniel worked for The Horizon Restaurant as a cook and as a laborer for local businesses.

In December of 2016, he was united in marriage to Jamie Cakebread. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Daniel liked to grill and loved spending time with family, friends, and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie of Sioux City; Sister-in-law, Amy (Tim) Hansen of Sioux City; five nephews and nieces, Presten, Gloria, Darrien, Lilliana and Zoie Hansen; and family friend, Jason and Kelton Shiffer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Kazen and brother, Doug.
