Dan J. Sturges, 63 of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, May 5, 2024, at his residence. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, May 8th at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation from 4-6:00 p.m. with family present at 4:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Dan Joseph Sturges was born on November 10, 1960, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Rev. Donald and Geri (Wilson) Sturges. He graduated in 1979 from North High School. Dan grew up across the street from his high school sweetheart, Kathy Pinney and been together ever since. They had a full life together and were blessed with three children, Brandon, Mick and Amy, who also blessed Dan with six grandchildren.

Dan worked in the Sioux City area as a local truck driver and construction worker. He loved being with his grandchildren, and also enjoyed going fishing and riding his motorcycle. During his younger years he enjoyed camping and boating.

Dan is survived by his high school love, Kathy Pinney, two sons, Brandon (Amber) Sturges and Mick (Renee) Sturges, his favorite daughter, Amy Sturges, grandchildren; Adam, Camryn, Karlee, Liam, Camden and Eli, his brother, Gary (Ginice) Sturges, sister-in-law, Karen Sturges, and his very close niece, Missy Newman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lonnie Sturges and a sister, Karen Riedman.
