Dale Eugene Peterson, 83, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, passed away July 5, 2024, at Embassy Rehab and Care Center.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, with a visitation 1 hour prior at church.  Burial with military honors will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Dale was born on June 5, 1941, in Afton, Iowa to Carl and Edith (Kingery) Peterson.  In 1964 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served two tours Vietnam.  In May of 1968 he started at the United States Air National Guard and has 31 years of military service and 25 years of civil service.  Dale worked as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist for many years.  He also worked at Gateway, Wells Blue Bunny, and Briar Cliff.  Dale was united in marriage to Juana Daguinod on December 18, 1967, at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.  He was a member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed old cars, walking, traveling, eating ice cream, and spending time with family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Juana “Nanie” Peterson; daughter, Pamela (Randy) Smith; grandsons: Jacob and Jordan Smith; sister, Carolyn Wheeler; brother, Fredrick “Bing” (Joann) Peterson; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Howard (Joan) Peterson and Roland “Top” (Janice) Peterson; brother-in-law, Harold Wheeler; two nephews and one niece.
