Sue Dirks
June 15, 1958 – December 9, 2021
Cynthia S. “Cindy” Dirks, 63 of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021. Memorial Services will be held 6 pm Monday, December 13 at the Morningside Assembly of God. Cindy was born on June 15, 1958 in Sioux City, the daughter of Everton and Eva (Cooley) Davies. She graduated from East High School in 1979. On April 26, 1980 she was united in marriage to Robbie Dirks. She worked at Bomgaars for many years, and was currently working at Lowes and part-time at Fareway.
Cindy’s whole life was centered around her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Cindy was the biggest supporter of Robbie coaching and her children and grandchildren through their various activities. She loved and supported everyone in her life. She was the perfect example of Hockey Mom and Hockey Grandma to all kids that skated at the Dirks Ice Rink over the years. She loved shopping trips with her daughter and granddaughter and the annual family gambling adventure! She was a valued Lowes employee and everyone that knew her loved her. Cindy and Robbie enjoyed following NHRA racing together and she was a member of Sioux City’s Women’s Connection.
Left to cherish Cindy's memory are her husband Robbie, son, Kyle Dirks, daughter, Nichole Bunce, two grandchildren, Gavyn Bunce and Rhiya Bunce, brother, David Davies, sister, Darla (Tim) Walker, many cherished nieces, nephews and close friends whom she loved like her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alan Davies and Jon Davies and mother-in-law, Sharon Dirks.
