Courtney Dean Lytle, aged 71, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at Accura Healthcare in Aurelia, IA. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Courtney was born on September 10, 1955, in Tacoma, Washington to Freeman and Lois (Nuechterlein) Lytle. He spent his childhood in Michigan where he attended a local Lutheran school. His family later relocated to Storm Lake, Iowa, where he graduated high school with the Class of 1973.

Courtney began his early career delivering newspapers, mowing lawns, and helping local farmers. At 16, he began working for Safeway Stores in Storm Lake, where he discovered his love of customer service. In 1982, he transitioned from the grocery business into the professional sales field. This propelled him into a lifelong sales career in the office supply field beginning in 1989. He thrived in roles that allowed him to connect with people.

Courtney was preceded in death by his parents: Freeman Lytle and Lois Lytle. 

He is survived by his children: Brent (Sarah) Lytle of Aurelia, IA and Brooke (Mark) Robb of Waukee, IA; grandchildren: Scott, Shane, Emily, and Grace Lytle of Aurelia, IA and Olivia and Allie Robb of Waukee, IA; siblings: Mark Lytle, Dawn Lytle, Allen (Kim) Lytle, Tom (Jodi) Lytle and Kris (Gregg) Allen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
