Cora Lois Self, 80 of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Waterbury Funeral Service with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lois was born on April 23,1932, in Sioux City the daughter of Frank and Cora (Inez) Schroeppel. She attended Sioux City Community Schools. She was united in marriage with LeRoy Self on January 18, 1953. He passed away on December 28, 1988 in Texas.

Lois was of the Methodist faith. She formerly worked at Walmart as a greeter before retiring. She enjoyed knitting and was proud of the fact that she knitted baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed sending cards to all of her family members to celebrate their birthdays.

She is survived by her children: Linda Weis, Debra Olmstead and her husband Mike, Janice Culley and her husband Kevin, and Thomas Self and his wife Maureen. Eight grandchildren and nineteen great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Doris Beckwith, brothers Arthur and Wesley Schroeppel, a sister-in law Alice Schroeppel and a brother-in law Jack Beckwith , son-in-law Danny Weis and three grandchildren: Chad Weis and Toni and Kurtis Olmstead

Serving as casket-bearers will be: Corey Weis, Richard Jeffords, Bobbijo Robinson, Kortney Self, Kevin Culley, and Tom Self
