Conrad Louis Castle was born Wednesday, October 6, 1948 to Howard and AlvaRetta (Hurd) Castle Sr in Sioux City, Iowa. He lived most of his life childhood in Sioux City area except for between the ages of 6 and 12 his family lived in Oregon. He married his sweetheart Sylvia Fachman March 31, 1972 and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 5, 1976. They raised their children in Sioux City, Iowa. Conrad worked hard providing for his family. He worked at a local box company for over 30 years.
Conrad's son Paul sent these sentiments: My dad was a Vietnam veteran in the Navy. He raised six amazing humans. He instilled in me a work ethic that has benefited me my whole life. He passed on his life's wisdom the best way he knew how. He had my back when I did not expect it. He believed in me when I did not believe in myself. I am the man I am because of him. God has called him home today. I am going to miss him but I will always remember him.
Conrad is survived by his wife Sylvia; his children Jason (Leah-his best friend), Walker (Tammy), Paul, Katrina (Joseph) Coleman, Taylor, and Belinda (Blake) Elsberry; many grandchildren; sisters Alice Lade and Anna (Phillip) Steele; and brother Howard Jr (Teena).
Conrad is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law Richard Lade and Eric Fachman.
