Connie Jean Weenink

Connie Jean Weenink, 71, of Sioux City, IA, passed away April 11, 2026 at a local hospital. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Connie was born on August 5, 1954, in Le Mars, IA, to Leonard and Helen (Reusch) Schulz. She graduated from Le Mars Central High School, where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Weenink. The two were united in marriage on November 24, 1973, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Connie and Bob built a life together centered around family. They enjoyed camping and created many lasting memories while raising their two children. Connie was a dedicated worker throughout her life, employed at Zenith, Donnelley Marketing, Aalfs Manufacturing, Gateway, and Maaske Markets.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—working on projects, caring for animals, and, most especially, spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Connie will be remembered for her kind heart, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert “Bob” Weenink; her children, Misty (Shaun) Broyhill and Dustin (Raelynn) Weenink; her grandchildren, Chase Broyhill, Nora Anderson, and Nevaeh Weenink; and her sister, Kathy Sponder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws; and her cousin, Tim Reusch.
