Connie J. Thompson

Connie J (Dik) Thompson passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 with family at her side. We will be honoring her with a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at the American Legion Hall located at 901 East Topaz Drive in Sgt Bluff, Iowa at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Connie was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Laddie Sr. and Violet Dik. Connie was the youngest of nine children. Connie graduated from East High School and later went on to become a CNA eventually going to work as a dialysis tech at Siouxland Dialysis. However her favorite and most rewarding job was looking over her grandchildren.

Connie was the loving mother of a daughter Mistie, but known to be Momma Connie and grandma to so many others that considered her to be a second mom and grandma. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. They were all her pride and joy.

Connie was very close to all her family and friends and will be greatly missed by so many. Those surviving her are her daughter Melissa “Mistie” Thompson. Her grandchildren: Casey Shultz, Kierra Shultz and Ariana Eagle Chasing; great grandchildren: Joshua and Eloise Daniel; brothers: Curtis (Jane) Dik, Dennis Dik; sisters: Fran (Gary) Pence, Mary (Doug) Doran and Beverly (Ron) Coots; sister in law, Mary Jo Cook; brother in law, Bruce Hansen; an aunt, Darlene Peterson; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and childhood best friend, Raeann Hullinger.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Laddie Sr and Violet Dik; brothers: Tracy Bridgeman and Laddie Dik Jr,; sister; Gloria Hansen; grandparents, Tracy and Mary Meyers and Bernard and Frances Peterson.

Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at UnityPoint St. Lukes and St Croix staff that has helped Connie in her the last year of life.
