Colleen A. Ebner, 62, of Sloan, IA, passed away at a local hospital on April 24, 2024.  A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 30th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. all at the church.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix, IA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Colleen was born on June 21, 1961, in Sioux City, IA to Donald and Evelyn (Hilterbrand) Ellis.  She was united in marriage to Robert Ebner on July 24, 1992, in Lake Osakis, MN. Together they enjoyed camping and fishing.  Colleen also enjoyed shopping, cooking fried chicken and lasagna.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Colleen worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for Manning Family Recovery and later Jackson Recovery in Dennison, IA.  She truly loved to help people and cared about her work.  Colleens' faith was important to her, and she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Robert Ebner; children: Joe Ebner, Chris Ebner, Mike Ellis, Neal Ebner, Andrew (Elaine) Ebner, Jennifer Dangel, Breann Ebner, Jeremy (Brittany) Dangel; numerous grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: Charles Cagley, Richard (Judy) Ellis, and Mike (Kelly) Ellis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
