Clyde C. Stevens, 76, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on May 28, 2026, after a 13-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery.
Clyde was born on April 11, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, the middle child of Roy E. and Dorothy D. (Hoekman) Stevens. He married the former Susan Irish on November 25, 1972, and together they raised two children, Christine and Ben.
Clyde proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He began his career at Sioux City Stationery, later known as Office Systems, in September 1966. After 48 years of dedicated service, he retired in April 2014 due to health issues.
Family was always Clyde's highest priority. While building a strong foundation for his family, he enjoyed a simple and meaningful life, spending more than 50 years in the home he and his wife purchased in 1973. He cherished time with those he loved and took great pride in his children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan Stevens; daughter, Christine Stevens; son, Ben (Tonya) Stevens; grandchildren, Merragin (Gavin Hodges) and Abbi Stevens; brothers, Charles (Lorraine) Stevens and Keith Stevens; sister, Rita (Jerry) Reistroffer; sisters-in-law, Ellen Stevens and Sandi (Randy) Groenhagen; brother-in-law, Sam (Stephanie) Irish; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved fur grandbabies, and his faithful dog, Rosie.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorothy Stevens; his in-laws, Warren and Ann Irish; his brother, Leroy Stevens; his grandmother, Harriet "Hattie" Bsharah, who helped raise him; his other grandparents; several aunts and uncles; nieces, Michelle and Kelly; nephew, Shane; many dear friends; and numerous beloved pets.
Clyde's kindness, dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. DeMay for his dedication and compassionate care throughout Clyde's cancer journey. They would also like to thank the staff at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center, Hospice of the Midwest, and Dr. Ray and the team at the VA Medical Center for their support, kindness, and excellent care during this difficult time.
Donations may be made in Clyde's name to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
