Clyde D. “Danny” Kirchner, 56 of Hot Springs, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Hot Springs.
A celebration of Danny’s life will be held 11:30 am Thursday at the Morningside Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dave Koehler officiating. Flag presentation will be conducted by the Marine Corps. Danny was born on November 4, 1954 in Sioux City, the son of Clyde and Priscilla (Howard) Kirchner. He joined the Marine Corps before graduation and served during the Vietnam War. Danny was united in marriage to Wilhelmine Conner on August 2, 1981. She died on December 17, 2006.
Danny worked for Gateway during its start up years in the first garage where computers were assembled in North Sioux City. Later he worked at Alignment Technology in Jefferson. If you knew Danny, you knew he loved to hunt and fish.
During 2008, Danny moved to the VA Center in Hot Springs due to health.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Kathy Kirchner of Le Mars; his grand-daughter Haley; his sister, Laurel and her husband Ron Berg of Sioux City; and his mother, Priscilla Kirchner.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Kirchner, his father Clyde, one brother, John, and two sisters, Beverly McPherson and Julie Bulit.
