Clinton Fredric “Fred” Busey, 82, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away at his assisted living residence on December 7, 2019. Memorial service to honor and celebrate Fred’s life will be held 9:00am Saturday, December 14th at the United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. A brunch will be served at the church followed by a graveside burial service at noon at the Woodbury Township Cemetery, also in Sergeant Bluff. Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Sergeant Bluff Fire Department. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Fred, born February 15th, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, was a dedicated father, loving husband and friend to many. He was dedicated to serving his community including 10 years of service in the Iowa Air National Guard, 174th TFG (1955-1965), was an active member of the local Lion’s Club chapter in the 1980’s and also served 42 years on the volunteer, Sergeant Bluff Fire and Rescue Squad. Fred was a very active member in the Community United United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff.

Professionally, he was a telecommunications engineer at Northwest Iowa Telephone Company for over 25 years. He continued his passion in the field of telecommunications as a small business owner for over 35 years. Fred was a lover of all things aviation and earned his private pilot license in 1972. He was also a ham radio enthusiast, loved electronics, physics, and possessed a vast array of handyman skills. In later years, his hobbies extended to woodworking and he became a regular attendee at local woodworking club gatherings.

Fred is survived by his wife, of 57 years Mary Anne (Bruner) Busey, daughter, Janice Hill, son, David (Renee) Busey, and two grandchildren, Madison (Andy) Peterson, and Devin Busey.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Florence Colby-Christensen, father, Edwin Jonas Busey, brother, Robert Carl Christensen, and step-father, Marlowe Christensen.
