Clifford A. Tague, Sr. 92 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Clifford Allen Tague, Sr. was born on March 24, 1931 to Ruben and Pearl (Lyons) Tague. He grew up in the Akron Westfield area and Climbing Hill. Clifford went to school through the 9th grade. He had to help on the farm and around the house, because his father had died in a car accident when he was a boy, so he had helped his mother raise his 8 brothers and sisters.
Clifford served in the Army during the Korean War; he was a scout master. He met Phyllis Carnes at a cafe where she was a waitress and on May 29, 1959 in Cherokee, Iowa, Clifford married Phyllis, and from that union they had 5 children. He retired from being a school bus driver and a mechanic.
Clifford is survived by his children; daughter, Kathy K. Tague of Sioux City, son James (Lorie) Tague of Sioux City, son Clifford A. (Robin) Tague, Jr. of Denton, Texas, sister Betty 6 grandchildren; Kandy and Chris Garrett, Kim and Randy Ritchison of Sioux City, Jenny and Brandon Mapes of Sioux City, James and Erica Tague of North Carolina, Nichole Tague of Denton, Texas, Tara and Justin Childress of Decatur, Texas; 7 great grandchildren, Jonny, Kayden, Kascin, Carson, Beau, Westin, Owen and Laine, and ex-wife, Maureen Tague.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, son Ruben, daughter Kandy, his parents Pearl and Ruben Tague, and his sisters, Erma, Virginia, Mary, Dorothy and brothers, Richard and Ralph.
