Clarence T. Tenborg, age 82, of Sioux City died on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at a local care facility Visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday September 12, 2010 at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff from 4-8 pm. Mr. Tenborg will be cremated following the visitation with inurnment to be held in Texas at a later date.
Clarence was born on November 5, 1927 near Minot, North Dakota, the son of John Paul and Martha Tenborg. He worked on the family farm during his childhood and at an early age realized his love for horses and caring for them.
He honorably served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy, serving as a Seabee during his term of service. Following his time in the Navy, Clarence then returned to his love of training and racing horses. He spent his entire life, doing what he truly loved, and always was striving to be the best at his trade.
Clarence will be missed by his family which includes his son Chad Tenborg and his wife Amanda of Atascosa, Texas, and his daughter Crystal Tenborg of Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by his six grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Brody Tenborg, two sisters and one brother.
