Cindy S. Buchanan, 56, of Sioux City, IA, passed away February 15, 2025, at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Cindy was born on August 14, 1968, in Sioux City, IA to Mahlon and Dorothy (Loomis) Phillips.  She graduated from East High School and went on to attend WIT Community College.  She was united in marriage to Christopher Buchanan on July 18, 1992, in Sioux City.  Cindy impacted lots of people while working various jobs throughout Siouxland.  Her last job was working at Hy Vee on Gordon Drive.  She enjoyed watching football, NFL and College and was a huge Vikings fan.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, going on vacations, and her pets.

Those left to honor or her memory include her husband, Christopher Buchanan; sons: Cody Buchanan, Calvin Buchanan, and Cameron Buchanan; grandkids: Camden and Carter; sister, Kim (Randy) Rathman; sister-in-law, Amy Buchanan-Parks; nephews and nieces: Brandyn (John) Rathman and Zach Rathman, Tamika (Aaron) Jarman, and Curtis (Nelly) Parks, Lashae (fiancé Josh) Parks; father-in-law, Roger Johnson; and her cat, Nibbles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law; Sharlene "Shar" Johnson and several pets.
