Christine A. "Chris" Martin, 56 of Sioux City, lost a brief battle with cancer on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held 11 am Friday, September 19, 2014 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Burial will be at a later date in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present 6-8 pm.

Chris was born on April 22, 1958 in Sioux City, the daughter of Bobby and Lila (Grenier) Landers. She was in the first graduating class from the new West High School in 1976. On May 19, 1978 Chris was united in marriage to Delbert C. Martin.

Chris worked in the cafeteria for the Sioux City School District for a number of years, then for the past 20 years, she worked at MidAmerican Energy, with her current position as a purchasing agent at the Port Neal facility.

Chris is survived by her husband Delbert; her two sons, James Martin and his wife Tracy of Sioux City and Jason Martin of Sioux City; one grandson, Brandon Martin; one sister, Lynn Lofgren of Frisco, Texas; one brother, Mark Landers of Houston, Texas; her special niece, Shelly Keane; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom Landers.
