Cheryl Y. Gries, 73 of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at her residence. Memorial Services will be held 5:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Opposites

I don't know how it happened,

No one could truly say,

But opposites do attract,

When night fell in love with day.

They'd meet only occasionally,

A precious few moments to play,

Yet, each saw only brilliance,

As the other faded away.

But alas, their love could never be

For time stands still for none.

So twice each day, they do embrace,

And offer themselves as one.
