Cheri Ann Gray, 59, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, after a three-year battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be 11 am Friday, February 16, 2024, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City with a Visitation one hour prior.

Cheri was born Thursday, April 2, 1964, to Gary F. Heck and Carol A. Gilbert in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from Sioux City North High School in 1983. She worked various jobs. She enjoyed the times she spent as a dietary aid at a care facility before moving to California to be around family.

Cheri returned to Iowa to get married, raising her two children Kellie Ann and John Jason in Onawa. She later got divorced and moved to Sioux City.

Cheri enjoyed cats, flowers and plants, spending time outdoors, eating tacos, loved visiting with her family and especially hanging with her brother Curt and his family. She had a great sense of humor throughout good and not so good times. She was known for her laugh by those who met her.

Cheri is survived by her mother Carol Gilbert; children Kellie (Cody) Dittmer and John Jason; grandchildren Joseph and Willow; siblings Curt (Julie) Heck, Audra (Christopher) Rogers, Ron Gilbert, and Twila Gilbert; many nieces and nephews.

Cheri is preceded in death by her father, Gary Heck; her stepfather Gary Gilbert; and her sister-in-law Darlis Fischer.
