Charlotte L. Gaynor, known as Char by family and friends, passed away at the age of 73, at her home in Dakota City, NE on 10/20/2024, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Char was born in Sioux City, IA on 11/22/1950 to Harold and Arlene (Mead) Farley. Char attended Riverside High School until 1967, but later attended high school in Richmond, CA, after her family relocated to Northern California.
After moving to Northern California, Char’s high school sweetheart, Edward (Ed) Gaynor, of Riverside, IA followed her to the West Coast. The couple married in 1968, and soon settled in Southern California to start a family. Char enjoyed being a homemaker for many years and loved raising her sons. Later, she was often seen working alongside her family, at their family motorcycle business. She performed numerous duties over the years, including being a vehicle verifier. In the early 1990’s, the family relocated to Dakota City, NE, where they found their beloved farm house.
Char enjoyed home improvement projects and decorating her home and garden, especially for the holidays. She loved thrift shopping, jewelry making, crocheting, pottery and most crafts. Char was an avid gardener and a talented artist. She loved creating unique art for her garden and home. Char loved the holidays and being home with family.
Char was preceded in death by her father, Harold Farley, her mother Arlene (Mead) Farley, and her grandson, Trenton Harris. Char is survived by her husband Ed Gaynor; her sons Terry Gaynor, Todd Gaynor, daughter-in-law, Ursula Gaynor; her grandchildren: Amanda Gaynor, Tyler Harris, Alexis Gaynor, Aiden Gaynor and Olivia Gaynor. She is also survived by her sister Vicky (Farley) Boucher, her brother Harold (Butch) Farley, her sister-in-law Bonnie Johnson and sister-in-law Lori Gaynor. At Char’s request, no funeral services will be held, but her family hopes you will never forget her and keep her spirit alive.
