Obituary

Charles Robert McDaniel, age 76, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Friday September 13, 2013 at a local hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church in South Sioux City with Father Jose Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation with the family present will be held on Monday from 7-9 pm at the church. Charles was born in Boswell, Indiana on February 9, 1937, the son of Charles V and Elnora “Anderson” McDaniel. He attended and graduated from Boswell High School in 1955. Upon his graduation he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

Following his service, Charles began a career as a professional truck driver working for various companies, he retired from C&H Trucking in 1999.

Charles was united in marriage with Linda Meier on May 18, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Charles was an avid golfer, who enjoyed yard work, being a Husker fan, listening to country western music, and boating.
He loved being with people, being outdoors and was a devoted man to his family. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Sioux City.

He is survived by his wife Linda of South Sioux City, his sons: Mark of California, Brian of Arizona, and Matthew and his wife Amanda of South Sioux City, his daughter Allison Sedano of Sioux City, a brother Lanny McDaniel and his wife Julie of Covington, Tennessee. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Russell McDaniel and a grand daughter Lara.
