Charles W. Collins, 58 of
Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his residence.
Memorial services will be 6
p.m. Monday at Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Sylvia Kennedy
officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service

Charles was born on September
14, 1952 in Sioux City, the son of Samuel and Dorothy (Bern) Collins. Charles
was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the Army, and he served 3 tours in Korea and
2 tours in Vietnam. Charles received 2 Purple Hearts while in Vietnam. His last
duty assignment before retirement was with the 113th Calvary in
Sioux City.
Charles enjoyed working on
cars, computer games, bowling and fishing.
He enjoyed traveling and went twice to Australia.
Charles was an active member
of the Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, and helped with the printing of
the church bulletin.
Charles is survived by his
sons, Mark Collins and his wife Nicole of Sioux City and Fred Collins of
Seattle, Washington; 3 grandchildren, Dodge Collins, Kira Collins and London
Collins; 2 brothers, Michael Collins of Sioux City and Gary Collins and his
wife Carolyn of Sioux City; 1 sister, Betty and her husband Dan Burright of
Sioux City; a nephew Cory Collins and a niece, Jennifer Maeda.
He was preceded in death by
his mother Dorothy, two brothers, David and Eddy Collins and two nephews,
Brandon Collins and Jason Burright.
