Cecilia Harding, 79 of South Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at a local hospital.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Crescent Park United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with Rev. Scott Squires officiating. A luncheon will follow before the burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. A private family visitation at 1:00 Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Waterbury Funeral Home in Sergeant Bluff, 400 4th Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave.

Cecilia was born June 6, 1936 in Oto, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Birdelin(Seaton) Stratton. She graduated in 1954 from Anthon-Oto High School. On May 23, 1954, she was united in marriage to Douglas Harding of Oto. In 1961 they moved to South Sioux City. Cecilia worked as “the lunch lady” for many years at the South Sioux Elementary school.

Cecilia enjoyed her gardening, cooking and baking. Her faithful companion Taffy kept her active. She was a member of Cresent Park United Methodist Church.
Cecilia is survived by her 2 sons, William Harding of Hornick and Lance(Gloria) Harding of South Sioux City; 2 daughters, Cathy(Bruce) Anderson of Lawton and Nellie Schmick of Phoenix; 1 brother, Leslie Stratton of Denver, Colorado and 1 sister, Rita(Ron) Collins of Hubbard, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, Vinnie, Adam, Sarah and Rachel; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Douglas.
