Catherine M. Gibson, 67 of Dakota Dunes, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 6 pm Tuesday, May 31 ^st at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation Tuesday 5-7 pm.

Catherine was born in Sioux City, the daughter of Leo and Avis (Dickson) Eickholt. She graduated from Lawton Bronson High School in 1972. She then continued her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College, and obtained her Registered Nurses degree. During February of 1982 she was united in marriage to James Gibson.

Catherine was a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center for 29 years, retiring in 2007. Reading and being with her grandchildren was her favorite pastime, and she also enjoyed sewing and going to the “boat”.

Catherine is survived by her husband James, sons Dan (Kendra) Gibson and Andrew (Gayle) Gibson, grandchildren Karson Gibson and Marshall Gibson, and her brothers, Stu (Sandy) Eickholt and Larry (Helen) Eickholt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Vicky Eickholt and a brother, Leo Eickholt Jr.
