Carolyn K. Knecht, 67, of McCook Lake, SD, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at a Sioux City hospital. A celebration of life service will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Izaac Walton League of McCook Lake, 215 Suncoast Dr, North Sioux City, SD 57049. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Carolyn was born on October 13, 1948 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Leonard and Katherine (Zook) Dandurand. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School and attended a business college in Sioux City.

Carolyn worked for Interbake Foods as a foreman, retiring due to her illness. She had a love for all animals and had many pets throughout her life. Carolyn loved spending time with family, watching old movies and racing fast cars. Her favorite place to visit was the Black Hills.

Survivors include her children: Cari (John Lynam) Sonney of North Sioux City, SD and Christopher Knecht of McCook Lake, SD, sister Lynda Mueller of Sioux City, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth.
