Carolyn Lee Kessler, age 84 of Sioux City, Iowa died peacefully at home January 9, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 10:30am at Wesley Global Methodist Church, 3700 Indian Hills Drive.

Carolyn was born to Wilfred and Dorothy Triggs, October 4, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Carolyn graduated from Central High School in 1960. Later she pursued a career in nursing, graduating from St. Joseph Mercy Nursing School in 1981. She worked at Marian Health Care Center for many years until her retirement.

Carolyn married Don Kessler in 1960. It was within this 65 year marriage Carolyn lived a full joyful, blessed life. They celebrated the addition of two sons, Lee M. (Julie) and Darin J. (Libby), four grandchildren, Matthew, Callie, Cody and Lauren. Great grandchild, Thornton is the newest addition.

Family, joy, love and laughter epitomized Carolyn. Her home was always filled with family and friends. Carolyn was an exceptional cook. The holiday table saw more than 20 guests yearly as her family grew. Carolyn’s home was always warm and inviting. She took such pride in making a comfortable home for her family.

Carolyn was a life long member of Wesley Global Methodist Church. She belonged to numerous clubs and volunteered at church events and activities.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Dorothy Triggs, brothers Roger and Bill, sisters, Amaryllis and Liz.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Don and sister Susan Lisle.
