Carolyn Rae Dunn

Carolyn Rae Dunn, 79, of Sioux City, IA, passed away October 12, 2026. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carolyn was born on June 2, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Raymond and June Hansen (Dunsing). She was the second of four children. Carolyn attended school in Sioux City, and in August of 1965, she married Paul Dunn in Sioux City, IA. From this union were born three children: Bob, Cherrie, and Troy.

Carolyn worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, IA, with her best friend Brenda until retirement in 2003. One of her passions was spending time with her sister and brothers while raising their families together. In her later years, she enjoyed country living, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren by taking them to playgrounds and going shopping.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Cherrie (Barry) Krayenhagen, little brother Dan Hansen, brother-in-law Leslie Jensen, granddaughter Katelyn Krayenhagen, grandson Josiah (Jaycee) Dunn, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and June; husband, Paul; two sons, Bob and Troy; sister, Sharon; and brother, Greg.
