Carolyn Lou Cullinane, 75, of Sioux City, IA, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at a local hospital.  A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 2-4:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Carolyn was born on January 6, 1950, in Lemon, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Donald and Betty Hetzel and a sister to Jeanne Schopp, Dean Hetzel (Linda), Don Hetzel (Coleen), Byron Hetzel (Kerry), Pam McCool (Curt), Judy Shawver (Matt), Jeff Beaver, and Kirk Davis.  Carolyn had three children: Shanda Weingart, Mandy Grimsly, and Terry Brewer.  She also had a stepson: Brian Cullinane. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Taylor Kraft, Corbin Weingart, Jillian Weingart, Jaydon Brewer, and Trey Brewer. She was a great-grandmother to Asher, Ruby, Chloe, and Jaylee.

Her life was marked by loss, as she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lowell Brewer and James Cullinane, along with her daughter Mandy, her son Terry, and her grandson Kaleb Brewer.

Carolyn had a passion for nurturing her flower garden and decorating her lawn, finding joy in the beauty of nature. She also enjoyed pampering herself with manicures.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jan from Mercy One Respiratory Therapy for the kindness she showed to Carolyn.

Carolyn will be remembered for her resilience and fighting spirit as she battled lung cancer for the last eight years.
