Carole L. Rasmussen, 81, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home in Ida Grove. Services will be held 10:30am Monday, November 29, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Odebolt, Iowa. Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carole Rasmussen was born May 3, 1940 in Ouray, Colorado the daughter of Pearl and Leola (Cyphers) James. She married the love of her life, Orrin Rasmussen January 30, 1957 at Faith Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in the Odebolt-Arthur area for 20 years. Over the years, Carole was employed at the Nursing Home in Odebolt and was self-employed at the Arthur Café. Together they moved to the Sioux City area where she worked for Nebraska State Bank, MCI, and as a provisional administrator and bookkeeper at Hallmark Care Center, retiring in 1998.

Carole enjoyed her home and took great pride in its presentation.  She was a consummate cleaner and loved to bake bread and cookies.  As a hostess she was one to offer food or beverage the moment you arrived.  Carole loved to visit with friends and relatives and always enjoyed a game of cards.  She and Orrin enjoyed fishing, and in their early retirement years had a motor home that went to many locations with different lakes and rivers to fish.  She also enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans and baby blankets to donate to others.

Carole is survived by her children; Martin (Pamela) of Onawa, IA, Jeffrey (Donna) of Ida Grove, four grandchildren; Michelle Archer of Fredricksburg VA, Rhiannon (Nic) Hunt of Whiting, IA, Erin Rasmussen of Omaha, NE, and Parker Rasmussen of Ida Grove, great grandchildren; Christana Archer, Jaxon Archer, Alexandra Archer, Tristin Archer, Kaleb Hunt, Karter Hunt, Bryce Hunt, and Mason Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orrin; son, Ronald; a brother Robert; and a sister, Maxine.
