Carol I. (Stinger) Bauernfeind, 101 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away peacefully Thursday, May 11, 2023 at a local hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Community United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery.

Carol was born on May 31, 1921 in Silver Creek Township, Nebraska, the daughter of Louis and Flossie (Fowler) Benscoter. She married Wayne Stinger. He passed away in 1972. She later married Louis Bauernfeind. He passed away in 2015. Carol was a farm wife and enjoyed her flower garden. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church. Family was everything to Carol and she will be remembered by her kind heart, quick wit, and tenacity.

Carol is survived by her daughter Carolyn Lau and her sons Darrell (Marlene) Stinger, Ralph Stinger, Craig (Monica) Stinger; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands Wayne and Louis; son Lloyd Stinger; son-in-law Bob Lau; daughter-in-law Bobbi Stinger; three sisters, Dorotha Reinert, Louise Bertrand and Phyllis Roberts; brother, Louis Benscoter.
